ORVIM processes two main families of composite materials for thermal insulation applications, each designed to meet specific technical requirements depending on the operating environment:
- Organic-Based Materials –Composed of layers of fiberglass fabric or synthetic fibers impregnated with thermosetting resins. They offer good thermal resistance (up to medium temperatures) and high compressive mechanical strength. Ideal for applications where insulation must be combined with continuous mechanical stress.
- Inorganic-Based Materials – Made from conglomerates of inorganic fibers or mineral powders bonded with special cements or ceramic compounds. They are designed for very high-temperature applications, providing superior thermal resistance but lower compressive strength.
